Hiroshi Ueno is the Advisor on International Affairs of KYOSAREN (Japan Association of Community Workshops for People with Disabilities, Japan. He started the career in disability employment in 1989 in the Tokyo Colony which runs several sheltered workshops for people with disabilities in Tokyo. In 1994 he participated to the opening of the Bottles Recycling Center in Tokyo, which is a sheltered workshop for people with intellectual disabilities and psychiatric disabilities run by the KYOSAREN. He had served there 14 years as the Director of Administration.
Aside from the employment he has had long time experiences in international affairs related to the disability. He had worked almost 20 years for the Training Course for the Leaders of Persons with Disabilities run by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as its Committee Member and the Chair. He joined the Workability Asia in 2009 serving as the Secretary General.
